    Too marvelous for words...
Isn't my niece the most adorable thing on the planet? Bless her...

Anyhoo, an old high school friend is visiting me this weekend! Can't wait. Celina! My Valentine formal date, (yes folks, a lady! We shopped for her dress together, who would've thought). She housed me on my trip to Toronto several years ago, now I can finally return the favor. My second room has its first guest. I'm making sure it's in good form for her arrival. She has requested for white Venezuelan lilies, diamond shaped bottles of Perrier, and that her bed be facing the north wind. Should be fun!
    Note to self... calm down.

    grumpy...
This was me the past week. Very, VERY grumpy. But grumpiness, like happiness, is a choice. Right? And I've decided to ungrumpify myself! Make changes where changes are needed. I'm gonna be happy here damnit...
Anyhoo, in my anger, I spent a lot of money this last weekend. I won't go into it...
Last Sunday, I got to meet an old high school friend for dinner. He had a four hour layover in Hong Kong on his way from Manila to Holland, and we decided to eat at the Spaghetti House at the airport. It was a blast. We laughed and laughed. Got serious. I bitched. He lamented. Then we laughed again. I learned about someone named Crystal Lee. It was a good couple of hours. Hoping next time, it'll at least be a weekend. Here's to us old friend...
Off to brunch with Crystal Lee
Tuesday, I got my free night at the Disneyland Hotel. I must be doing something right. My room came with a king size bed, a gorgeous view of the ocean, and a f*cking jacuzi! Woo hoo. Slight problem though, I filled it up with water, pressed the "on" button inside the jacuzi and nothing happened. *gloom* Without the bubbles, it's just a tub of hot water. I did figure out the next morning though that the power switch to turn on the power switch of the jacuzi was a red button outside the bathroom. No problem, ten seconds after the discovery, I was back in the tub. Then breakfast with Ralion and... um... a friend. Question, have I gained weight? Leave your comments...
    Aww...
Then because of an overnight taping, I got to have another night in the other hotel here at Disney. The Hollywood Hotel. Smaller rooms, but still a lot of class. Old Hollywood. Pretty cool. The taping was from 1-5 am and I got to see Jackie Chan in person! The view...
    cool...
And that was my last couple of days, just trying to snap out of the bad mood I was in. On other aspects of life, Andrei is deep in Footloose rehearsals. Jennie was ever so kind to send me this picture of him...
    Mama says...
I can't wait to see the show. Very proud of my baby. We're still going strong. Talk everyday. Text everyday. Some days are easier than others. We've got a million days ahead yet. No worries...
As for me, I'm gonna continue my week. Another weekend coming up, more work. *yawn* I'm sleepy... off to a dinner in Sleeping Beauty.

When your faith is all but killed

Or you can slowly start to build...

...And if that joy, that thrill
Doesn't thrill you like you think it will
    Still, with this perfect finale
    The cheers and the ballyhoo
    Who wouldn't be happier?
    So I couldn't be happier
    Because "happy" is what happens
When all your dreams come true...
    Well, isn't it?
    Happy is what happens
    When your dreams come true...
    *gloom*
    I couldn't be happier.

    Just an ordinary day...

Presenting, a black monkey... oh and next to him, Terk from Tarzan! (padumpum)

Soft opening. So so much happened. It's super fun working in an amusement park. I'll post more pictures asap, am just so tired now, but wanted to post something...

And folks (namely, Mom, Tennister, and Bea)... the pic in the previous blog entry is NOT REALLY MY APARTMENT. It's the Walt Disney Suite of the Disneyland hotel. Ha ha... I am flattered you think I earn enough to decorate my place like that though. He he...

Even the towel animal, is not really a hobby (jennie and chari). it's bathroom deco in the hotel... he he.

while i'm at it, the harpist plays in the hotel lobby (she's not really from a beanstalk). Isn't she gorgeous?

And i haven't really fallen in love with somebody else, let alone Minnie...

Life here in Hong Kong has been quite exciting and new. There've been a lot of changes in my life, I have to say.
I've taken up some new hobbies...

    cool...
I've redecorated my apartment, just a bit...
    Lifestyles of the...
I've also spiced up my daily work attire.
    Music Man
On Sundays, I hike up beanstalks and every now and then, take something back to earth...
    oooh
And there's someone else I'm slowly falling for (forgive me Bu!)...
Oh Minnie Me, i mean, Minnie and me
    he he he...
Life's a little crazy with soft opening next tuesday. Enjoying the ride though. Footloose is fast approaching and I'll be in Manila again. Can't wait to see Bu again! Just hope he can accept the new me... dark as burnt pork chop and slowly growing a buddha tummy. Ah!

Saturday! My day off. And I didn't spend it doing laundry!

First was accepting an invitation to check out another part of Hong Kong. Sightseeing. Cool. Old LaSallian friend Gerwin and wife Charlie invited me to check out their area of the Hong Kong universe. First, Gerwin picked me up from IFC, and little did I know, my tour would begin there. I finally got to see the Filipino floor of the World Wide Center in Central. Oh my gosh. Everything from day-late Philippine newspapers and Curly Tops to Pan de Sal and pirated CDs. Wow. Crowded. My first time on a two dollar tram then the real bus trip to Aberdeen, which I have learned is the real Hong Kong (aw diba...) After a scrumptious home cooked lunch at their apartment, we headed off to Stanley Market. Oh the views. Residential flats built on sides of mountains and lush beaches. Gorgeous...

    the happy couple...

We capped the afternoon at Pacific Coffee place where we discussed a wide range of topics from wedding plans to the pretty colors of our Hong Kong IDs. G! and C! Thanks for the tour and fun company. Next time, hopefully Bu.. Andrei and I can show you around here!

The sun was still out as I raced off to Tsim Sha Tsui to buy a gift for the second half of my day, Shiela's birthday. My original plan was to buy her Cranium. But when I heard that Loy already had it, I changed it to Taboo. Not a new game, but something which'd be fun to keep in her apartment. Epiphany walking through Harbour City towards Toys R Us - I can't believe I live in Hong Kong. This once a-distant-childhood memory of a mall is now here anytime I need to see it. Cool...

    Anyhoo, dinner at Shiela's.

    Happy Birthday!

Dinner was a delish seafood pasta and chicken wings. A good number of her close friends came and we had a blast just chatting and listening to retro music (think Raspberry Beret...) one of the highlights? Des recalling dance steps to old pop songs (think Janet's Runaway, Together Again and my personal favorite, Oops I Did It Again!) And then for us true oldies, Shiela did a rendition of Menudo's old hit "It's An Explosion!". It was a lovely evening...

Today, Sunday, I went back to life inside my apartment. Called Andrei. Went to Tung Chung to develop pictures. Called Andrei. Grocery shopped. Called Andrei. Did laundry. And then, you guessed it... I blogged. Found myself missing Bu a lot today. Whether it was thoughts of us in Manila or imagining us just hanging out in my place here. *sigh* It scares me sometimes to think that two long distance Disney couples have already bit the dust. Then again, it's only been two months, must've been too frail to begin with actually. I know another couple who went long distance for a while but are now happily married in Aberdeen. (I'll still be amazed at that Shanghai trip!) I miss Andrei! But love him more...

Hey Cel! Thanks for reading my blog! I'll be seeing you in 4 weeks! Woohoo! Good times! Hmm... Am trying to think of a Niagara falls equivalent to take you to... the Disney fountain?

And so another week begins... time is just racing by...

Glad I could still enjoy a view or two...

    Happy monthniv babe...

Come on up the ladder to the roof where we can see heaven much better...

Let's go up the ladder to the roof where we can be closer to heaven...

We'll laugh, I'll tell you the story of love.

How it is, the happiness in it, baby.

We combine these thoughts and together we will travel to the fountain of lovingness.

I will never, never, never, never, never leave you, baby.

As we grow older and older and older, babe...

    Happy 19th Bu!

    Love you...

You can reach me by railway...

There it is. All the musical acts are in the park and in 3rd gear rehearsal mode. With soft opening in just over two weeks, things are incredibly exciting. They've opened several parts of the park to the press. And to tease the Hong Kong folk even more, the new Disney MTR line opened yesterday. Now people get to ride all the way to the front gate of Disneyland. The park itself still opens September 12. Check out these specially made windows and hand grips...

    aw diba?

The Disneyland station itself is just... magical. Like a scene right out of Harry Potter.

We ain't in Kansas no more Toto

Sorcerer's hat... and the big clock in the back...

I've never seen people so excited to ride an MTR train. Digital cameras EVERYWHERE! Yes, including mine. He he.

    I LOVE THIS JOB!

    The happiest place on earth...

lightest, not so light, not light at all

Yup, Loy's in town so Shiela's on her natural high. We went out last night with Bobby and Pheona, and met up with cool guy Chris. There is this incredible glow radiating from the two of them, comes from knowing I guess that it isn't always easy, but DEFINITELY worth it. Moments are sweeter...

I've been lucky enough to have seen Andrei three times the past two months (I'm officially two months in Hong Kong today... wow) the week he visited Hong Kong, then the two consecutive weekends I was in Manila. The long distance thing hasn't been easy on any of us. It takes a dizzy amount of strength to not go crazy sometimes. To balance that desire to hold your someone today WITH the desire to build a good foundation so that you can hold your someone for the rest of your life, safe and secure. Wish you could see the glow on Shiela's face. And Loy's. It's like they never were apart.

It's a lazy Sunday here, though I had an event at Disney where I spent my afternoon. I'm back at my apartment cleaning up cause some folks are coming over later this evening. I just spoke to Andrei who is heading home from rehearsals. I started thinking about how if I was still in Manila, we'd be heading home together... *sigh* (cut senti music... as if I didn't just see him two weeks ago... love you bu)
    Time flies.
Hold on to a good thing.
    Nobody else.
    Stars and the moon.
    Miss you Bu...
