It's 9 am... i've been up since 8 (if anyone told me 6 months ago that my body would get used to waking up at 8 am, I wouldn't have believed it!). I got the next four days off to spend with my family so I couldn't be happier. Last night, Angel put together a feast of beefsteak, pasta, salmon, and shrimp. Joy set the table. Oh, and I cooked the rice! It was a lot of fun. The 3 of us in my tiny kitchen. Chloe keeping herself busy rearranging my apartment decorations. It had to be one of the best Christmas eves EVER. The family was complete... and everyone was talking to each other this year! yeah!

I usually wait for Christmas morning to open gifts, but everyone else opened theirs last night so I did the same. I got a year subscription to Advocate (gay magazine) and a cozy Old Navy sweater from Joy. She thought I was an XL (?) so it goes half way down my thighs, but I don't care. It's so cozzzzy! I can wear just that to sleep, he he. From Angel, Luis, and Chloe, two DVD sets: Sweeney Todd in Concert and Oprah's 20th Anniversary! Yahooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Funny story, in the height of all the Christmas in Hong Kong chaos, Angel forgot to tell Chloe about Santa this year! Hahahaha... So Angel turns to Chloe at 4 pm in the afternoon, "You remember who's coming tonight?"... I say, "Angel, it won't work. It's too late. There's no momentum. No 'be nice or else you won't be part of Santa's conditional love' story." Haha... Oh well. At least she knows someone named Santa is coming tonight.

Bu had his own family Christmas celebration last night, at home in Manila. I called him at midnight and was reminded of how his first phone call to me EVER was two Christmases ago. He was in Pangasinan. We weren't together yet, but over text, established that we liked each other na. *Sigh* I look forward to the day we can actually spend Christmas together. Till then, knowing he still loves me is Christmas enough.

I remember past Christmases, how my phone would go nuts with Christmas texts as early as Dec 24 morning. Not so this year. Unfortunately, my manila roaming number that everyone knows ISN'T WORKING (stupid Globe) so I really am not gonna get a lot of texts. I did from my new Hong Kong friends, and that I super appreciate.

To my blog readers, Merry Christmas! Thanks for dropping by to see what I'm up to.

To all my Manila friends, Merry Christmas. I miss you all a bit everyday I'm here.

Merry Christmas Bu. I love you.

    Happy Birthday Jesus!

    Signs of winter...

    my hallway...
It's my tiny hallway leading to the bathroom. Stage right is my room, stage left the storage room. You can see the heater I got for my living room. It's cozy. Nothing beats Bu keeping me warm, but for the meanwhile, the radiator should do.
My back is killing me. Nights and mornings are a real bitch. Last night, I couldn't sleep. The position I finally found with no pain? Sitting up with my back slightly inclined. Argh... And I was stressed today. My parents flew in. That didn't stress me out though... grrr... agony... Sharp pulses dart through my back... *bang head on wall* make it stop!!!!!!!!!
*sigh* Glad the parents are here. They're in my room during their stay, and I get the sofa bed in the living room. Not bad. Still cozy. And I got the heater.
Just found out I get up to 4 days off next week thanks to Christmas. Thinking of bringing the family up to Macau. Let's see.
Still not feeling like writing my novela entries... ouch...

So in a nutshell, I slipped fell, fractured the T6...

So my last three days of vacation in Manila were spent at home, except for Jennie's wedding in the south which I could not not go to. I missed seeing a lot of people in Manila, sorry folks. Next time...

And no worries. I'm walking (with a cane) and with the help of pain killers, I can still go to work and all. My sister's here with me in Hong Kong. My back hurts like hell in the mornings, but eases as I move around.

As they say, when in China... So here I am, with my crazy sister who helped me capture the moment I tried... gulp... alternative medicine.

It was a wonderful vacation... which changed direction completely in one fell swoop... Ouch... Details soon.

    *sigh*

Manila still knows how to pinch at my heart. And perhaps, it always will.

I'm practically all packed. This'll probably be my last entry till I get back, unless I actually take the time to blog in Manila. I can't wait, I'm practically there already.

December 1 kicked in great. I ran around the park checking on all the musical groups, making sure everyone was in Christmas music playing mode. The Dapper Dans, the 2 marching bands, the ragtime pianist, then finished the day with the hotel orchestra. Main street and the hotels had their Xmas background music on. *sigh*

The tree lighting. A huge event which was months in the planning and late night rehearsals. It was memorable... yup, quite memorable. Main street was full of guests and the media with video cameras on risers and everything. The 15 minute announcement plays. The Disneyland band enters playing Jingle Bells. The crowds cheer! They settle in front of the huge tree and render a couple holiday tunes.

We wish you a merry christmas...

They exit and the Christmas float enters with the Dapper Dans and our Hong Kongese host...

    Haul out the holly...

A song and a special guest later, Mickey and Minnie mouse throw pixie dust on the tree. (spoiler coming up, for those who won't get to see the tree lighting at all this year, though I do urge you to visit in December, nothing beats this show live) Imagine this. Music starts. Fast running strings. All the lights on Main street begin to flicker in a joyful frenzy. A trumpet solo is soon followed by an orchestral sweep. The tree lights layer by layer as the chords progress higher and higher. The tree lights then radiate as the music approaches its climax. On the last chord, the star is lit. Applause.

oh christmas tree, oh christmas tree...

*Sigh* December 1 is done. I end the day at the hotel to check on the hotel orchestra. I get a shot with Santa then treat myself to a foot massage at the Victorian Spa... then head home. What a day. Now I'm just killing time till Saturday night. I can't wait!

And folks... Guess what? 23 months!

Yup, the Bu and I are a month away from 2 years of love. Wow. I've been living Hong Kong for officially 6 months today. And we're still going strong. Nightly calls. Daily texts. A thousand exciting memories. A dozen visits. A hundred arguments. A million I love you's. I can't wait to spend this monthniv with him again.

    BU! Advanced Happy 23rd monthniv!

    So where's dinner?

So I'm off to sleep. I'll read you all when I get back in a week and a half. This is Rony signing out. Do leave a comment or 2 or 3 (i want like 30 comments when I get back folks!) hihi... Happy Holidays.

    you better watch out...

December 1!! This day seemed so so so far away... and now it's here. The official start of Christmas at Hong Kong Disneyland! My first time to be on top of Christmas music for a whole park. Pressure. Exciting. But pressure! The daily tree lighting finally starts tomorrow. The park looks beautiful all Xmas-ified. *sigh* Starting tomorrow, I can lean back, a bit, and wait for vacation mode to truly kick in... yeah.

    Christmas chicks!

    I've gained weight haven't I? Zeesh...

Three more days! Then I'm flying home! yeah, yeah, yeah!!!!
This week has been so tiring getting everything ready for Christmas and to get things in order before I leave. I'm all music-ed out... And with everything finally falling in place tomorrow, thanks to Kander and Ebb, I have the perfect song...

Oh tomorrow morning the sun will shine
with a bud awakening on every vine
and the leaves will whistle and the birds will peep
    and tomorrow morning I'll... sleep!
yes tomorrow morning, I'll do my best
To enjoy the morning in a good night's rest...
