It's almost 2 am... can't sleep again.  Been falling asleep at 4 am these past couple nights.  Thing is, after today, I should be sleeping better.  The hardest part of this whole month is over.  New Lion King cast is almost in.  The million Halloween music projects are in the process of being approved or have been approved.  But still, crunch week.  In exactly one week, we will launch all things Halloween in the park.  Tomorrow, I'm checking into the Hollywood hotel for a series of night rehearsals for the Glow in the Park parade (ooh, once again featuring the song I wrote last year!!)  After that, I can look forward to another quick flight home for Cathy's wedding.  Life is good.  September is gonna go by... Christmas and New Year's are just around the corner...  This week is gonna be fast.  Let's see how I'm holding up on Friday. *sigh*

My song of the moment...  Found a composer on youtube called Jeremy Schonfeld.  I posted "I Was Meant For You" in my last blog.  He's like a gospel, country JRB.  He's got some songs which are totally growing on me.  This is one of them.  House of Love...  In trying to sleep tonight and not succeeding, I tried memorizing the song.  Got most of it down.  Also in a spark of coincidence, a friend sent me the score today.  Don't know how he knew.  I just found the song a couple days ago.  Incredible song... sung here by Natalie Weiss, another youtube favorite of mine...

So the past couple weeks... in pictures.  There was the Olympic frenzy which I already blogged about.  Just as that ended, we had an event in the park in collaboration with the Disney Channel called My School Rocks where 5 schools from around Asia competed in a dance-off for the chance to win a spot dancing with our High School Musical Live! show.  To make things even cooler, two stars from the movie High School Musical came over, Monique Coleman who plays Taylor and Olesya Rulin who plays Kelsey.  As I'm always one to get starstruck, I was starstrucked.  And to top it off, they were incredibly down to earth folk.  Seriously, that's true stardom...

In the same weekend, we had Chinese Olympic Gold medalists in the park for a meet and greet. Got to see the tiny Chinese gymnastics team.  It was pretty neat, guests everywhere were screaming and taking photos.  On that note, we also called it a summer as Monday all the kids would be going back to school and all our summer offerings would come to close.  Things like the Waterworks parade and the Summer Blast Boys.  Figured I'd hang out and take some pictures...

A couple friends also came to visit these past couple weeks.  There was Terence, who I'd met in 2001 when I did Rent Singapore.  To think that before 2008, I hadn't seen him since Singapore.  This year alone, thanks to a trip I took to Singapore and this being his 2nd trip here this year, I've seen him 3 times.  Like we're making up for lost time.  Coincidentally, two other ladies who were with us in Rent 2001 now live in Hong Kong too.  So we had a mini-reunion... Us now...

    and us back then...

    Old friends... nothing like it.

Then there was Lea who was in town for two days cause of a presscon for Cinderella which would be coming here in November.  Her flight arrived at 815 pm and we met up at 10 pm over in Dan Ryan's in Harbor City.  It was a relaxing night of catching up, talking about the latest in Philippine theater and Broadway folk...  oh, and Eraserheads.

Short and sweet. And seeing that she, Shiela and Loy will be here in November for practically a whole month, it felt like a preview of the fun to come...

Then to close things of, last weekend, I went on a nature walk with a friend from work.  I've lived in Discovery Bay for 3 years but haven't quite explored it enough.  And after this trek up the mountain, I realized 2 things.  That (a)  always bring water on a hot trek up a mountain.  And (b) I really haven't gone around Dbay at all.  The hike up left me breathless, but the breathtaking view was worth it...

and of course, me on top of a rock...

SO.. it's been a seemingly busy past couple weeks.  September is even busier.  Thank God for weekends...  West Side Story, here I come!!!

I've been in a very post youtube-y kind of mood.  This'll be the last one and I'll be back to catching up the 15 of you who check this blog on what's been happening in my life.   I just saw the movie "Miss Pettigrew Lives A Day" which was just amazingly well written.  And features Enchanted's Amy Adams singing again... this heartbreakingly beautiful classic.  I love a good moment like this...

    Luckily, she chooses the pianist.

Lots been going on.  Personal life.  Social life.  Going home this weekend to catch West Side Story and get away.  Halloween opens in 3 weeks so it's a fly-in-fly-out trip.  A friend gets married at the end of the month so I'll be back again in Manila for that.  Life is okay...  Still learning.
