My musical of the moment, thanks to random youtube clips, is a musical called Next To Normal. Broadwayworld.com's synopsis:In this over-stimulated and pharmaceutically-obsessed world, one almost average suburban family comes to grips with a long buried secret in this haunting and darkly funny new musical. With provocative lyrics and an electrifying score, Next to Normal explores the lengths to which we'll go to keep ourselves sane and our families in place. A video montage... Some other links to clips which don't allow embedding... COSTCO... funny. Alice Ripley, who plays quite a different role compared to her Siam twin days in Side Show, is just AMAZING in these clips. She plays a woman suffering from manic depression, obviously not yet here. Oh wow... DIDN'T I SEE THIS MOVIE... The doctor suggests electro shock therapy to help her. She reacts. A LIGHT IN THE DARK... a heartbreaking duet between husband and wife after her breakdown in the previous song. I'm not as into rock scores, heck I still don't get Spring Awakening, but I'm quite drawn to this show. The music has such drive, I'm completely get hooked. I wanna MD this show in Manila someday... I'd cast the likes of Menchu Lauchengco or May Bayot... or maybe Jinky Llamanzares. | |||||||||||||

Technically in "Didn't I See This Movie" Diana is reacting to the doctor. The husband's song on the topic is "A Light In The Dark" and is BEAUTIFUL.
